What We Believe
ABOUT GOD:
In the beginning was God. God is the creator of everything that exists. He is the great Designer and Architect. He is all powerful. We know he exists in three persons (Father, Son and Spirit). He is an awesome Father, and because of Christ, we can never be separated from His love for us. His mercies and lovingkindness toward us are new every morning. He fights our battles for us. God has a plan for us, and His thoughts toward us each day cannot be numbered.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 24:1-2; 90:2; Matthew 28:19; Romans 1:20; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Revelation 1:8, John 3:16
ABOUT JESUS:
Jesus is God in the flesh. He came to show us the Father. He is blameless and became the sacrifice for our sins. He is the only way to the Father, and through Him we have been reconciled back to God. Jesus’ death on the cross broke the curse of sin and death. Through His resurrection we have new life in him. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He's still alive today—because He is God and He is eternal. When we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us. He now sits at the right hand of the Father but will return one day.
John 1:1-4, 14, 3:6, 4:10-11; Luke 1:30-35; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT:
Jesus said that He must go away so that the Holy Spirit would come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. He is here to convict us when we sin and lead us back to the Father. He comes to live inside us the moment we acknowledge our sin and put our faith in Jesus Christ. He gives us gifts (skills and abilities) for us to serve others and help in bringing the “Good News” to others. He produces fruit (character) in our lives to make us more like Christ. He guides us into all truth according to scripture, directs us to do the right thing, He strengthens and comforts us in times of need, and continually reveals the nature of God to us. He teaches us to pray when we do not know what words to say and makes “utterance” on our behalf to the Father. He ministers to our spirit and directs us in the plan God has for us.
John 14:16-17; 26; 16:13-15; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18
ABOUT HUMANITY:
We are all made in the image of God—to be like him in character. It’s what separates us from everything else that God created. God loved us first and according to Ephesians 1 “predestined” us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ. Before God placed us in our mother’s womb He knew us, and we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Masterfully knit together with gifts and abilities to fulfill what He has called us to be. He made us male and female and made no mistakes in His creation of any of us. We are born into a sinful nature, but because of Christ we can be “Born Again”. John 3:16-17 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. That Whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” So, God gave us free will, which means we much choose who we will serve.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-8; 139:13; Isaiah 53:6, 59:2; Romans 3:23

Skyline Church is a Highways and Hedges ministry. We believe the time is short and “the table” is not full. We need to go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23
The last command of Christ before he ascended into heaven was to “Go into all the world…” Our mission is to go and do as Christ did. “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, freely we have received, freely give”. Matthew 10:8
